How should I care for my Patio Chest?

ANSWER: Occasional cleaning of your outdoor storage chest is all the care it needs. Simply mix a mild detergent in warm water and add a little bleach ( about 1/2 cup per gallon) and gently scrub with a soft bristle brush inside and out to remove any dirt and mildew then give it a thorough rinse. Although we apply a generous coat of "Insulator Wax" to your patio chest top before shipping you might want to reapply this or some other type of protective wax to help keep your chest looking its best even longer between cleanings.

How long will my Patio Chest last?

ANSWER: We use the most durable and weather proof components we can find in the construction of our outdoor storage chests. With routine maintenance you should enjoy many many years of use from your outdoor storage container.

Can custom paint colors be matched?

ANSWER: We can match any color sample you provide for a custom epoxy paint finish on your outdoor storage chest whether you are using it as a patio chest, a deck box, a dock box, or an outdoor toy storage box. There is a $50 up charge for this service.

Is the Georgian Patio Chest water proof?

ANSWER: Yes, The Georgian Patio Chest is designed to keep rain water out while letting air in for ventilation thereby reducing mildew and mold.

Is the Georgian Patio Chest critter and insect proof?

ANSWER: The Georgian Patio Chest is designed to keep out animals and insects. A heavy wire grid forms the bottom of the chest and is covered with a heavy duty bug screen. This maximizes air flow in while keeping bugs and critters out.

How does the ventilation feature work?

ANSWER: When the chest top is down, it rests on rubber bumpers that hold it up above the chest bottom about 1/2". Air can move freely up through the wire grid and mesh bottom and out through the vent around the top. This feature allows damp items placed in the chest to dry as well as reducing mold and mildew growth.

ANSWER: The Georgian Patio Chest is available with an optional weatherproof locking mechanism.

How much does the Georgian Patio Chest weigh?

ANSWER: This outdoor storage unit is a strong, solid piece of furniture weighing about a hundred pounds.

Is there any assembly required?

ANSWER: The only assembly required when your Georgian Patio Chest arrives is the screw-in installation of the four leveler feet which can easily be accomplished in about one minute.

Can I get designs, my name or logo painted on my Patio Chest exterior?

Why is the Georgian Patio Chest so expensive?

ANSWER: Cost in any product is a relative thing. Compared to other furniture quality outdoor storage containers like teak storage chests The Georgian Patio Chest is considerably less expensive and we've been told by teak chest owners that they're not as watertight and durable. Compared to Rubbermade and blow-molded, mass-produced chests our chest is a more expensive outdoor storage chest. However, comparing us to those chests is truly like comparing apples and oranges. Our hand craftsmanship (which does by its nature limit our production numbers) , our variety of color offerings and optional features, the look, the weight; are just a few of the reasons our chest is better and because we have to pay more for the parts that make our chest better we are compelled to charge what we do for our product. We sell and ship direct to our customers without any middleman's markup to insure the maximum value for our customer and at the end of the day that's all we can do. It's been our goal to make the quality of our product something our customers will remember long after the price is forgotten.
